MicroTCA was developed to provide a small form factor, low cost, and high performance standard solution for telecommunications and embedded computing applications. CorEdge Networks has embraced this vision with its line of PicoTCA platforms. Developed with patent-pending technology, the PicoTCA platforms provide MicroTCA developers with a low cost, easy to use, and flexible architecture for evaluating or deploying their MicroTCA systems.

The CEN-PICO-1US™, the smallest of the PicoTCA platforms, is approximately the size of a standard laptop computer. It provides two user AMC bays that support a wide range of fabric and clock implementations. The top and bottom covers are removable for easy access to operating AMCs. The CEN-PICO-1UR™ was specifically designed for testing and evaluating Processor AMCs (PrAMCs). It provides either a single or double wide PrAMC bay which connects to a standard PCI Express slot and SATA bays on a rear transition module (RTM). The CEN-PICO-xUE™ platforms scale from 4 to 10 available AMC bays. Using CorEdge’s MCH and PM, they support a wide range of fabric, clock, and AMC width options.
